Saluran ini berfungsi sebagai tempat keluarnya air kalau debitnya melebihi kapasitas tampung bendungan. Saluran ini mampu mengalirkan air 48.400 kaki kubik per detik (1370 m� / s).

Jarak dari corong ke titik keluar - yang terletak di sisi selatan ngarai - adalah sekitar 700 kaki.
